Why do you want to race for Team Eleonore Rocks?
Although I have competed in organized sports for over twenty
years with a decent amount of success, I am left feeling slightly unfulfilled
with what that represents. I believe that racing for Team Eleonore Rocks will
allow me to do what I love, race, while also racing for a worthwhile purpose –
to bring support and recognition to the mission of the Eleonore Rocks
Foundation.
Why should we choose you?
I think you should choose me because I would be an
upstanding, articulate, honorable, outspoken ambassador for the Eleonore Rocks
Foundation. In addition to bringing recognition to the Foundation through my
performance, my outgoing personality and passion for the cause would no doubt
make me an asset to the team.
What philanthropic endeavors are you involved in?
I work on a monthly basis in a soup kitchen in Washington DC
(Miriam’s Kitchen), on a quarterly basis, I volunteer in Washington DC at
programs established by my alumni committee (Yale Alumni Club), and contribute
to Wounded Warriors programs.
What is your background (school, hometown, current town,
major, etc.)?
I grew up and went to high school in Shrewsbury,
Massachusetts at St. John’s High School where I first learned the value and
importance of volunteering to charitable causes, continued my education at Yale
University where I lead the outreach program for the Men’s Heavyweight Crew
Program and I now live in Arlington, VA.
How did you get involved in triathlon?
After rowing in high school, college and for a few years
after graduation, I decided to continue competing in sports, as it had become a
lifestyle for me. Triathlon was the most challenging sport I stumbled upon as I
searched for alternatives to rowing. Always up for a challenge, I was hooked
after my first race on Cape Cod.
What is your favorite of the 3 sports in triathlon? Why?
Biking is my favorite sport of the three even though it may be
the one I excel at least.
What inspires you?
The under-dog giving it their all - no matter how dire the
circumstances or daunting the challenge.
Do you have a significant other? Children?
I do not have a significant other or any children – just a
girl I am slightly crazy about.
What is your big boy/girl job?
I work for the Department of Homeland Security.
What kind of goals do you have for the year?
To give a meaningful answer to the following question without
hesitation or forethought: What have you done to make a difference this year?

paths for running and the vast array of surrounding roads for biking.
In Arlington, VA, from Old Angler’s on MacArthur Boulevard
down to Hains Point.
In Honolulu, HI,
