Description
Where are you from/Where did you go to school?  I grew up in the Greater Cleveland area and attended Magnificat High School.  I was a member of the swim team for all 4 years (2 years varsity).  Upon graduation, I attended Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, where I continued my swimming career as a Varsity Swim Team member for 4 years.  After college, I decided I had not yet spent enough money on my education, and decided to get my Masters in Special Education.  This degree has opened my eyes to so many wondering life experiences.

Why are you racing for Eleonore Rocks? The founders of The Eleonore Rocks Foundation are amazing people that are the true meaning of Love.  They have an honest soul,  and .  This family has opened their hearts and hands to help others that are experiencing what they went through when losing their precious Eleonore Grace.  Team Eleonore stands for what I personally believe in.  As humans, we all have our life struggles that knock us down.  These struggles are hard and challenging, but to give up is the easy way out.  The goals of Team Eleonore are: raising awareness for terminally ill children and completing the difficult challenges of the race.  These difficult challenges of the races remind us that we are alive and need to live the life given to us.  If problems arise, we cannot let them knock us down.  One of my favorite songs by Three Days Grace is “One X.”  The chorus reads:
We are the ones
We get knocked down
We get back up and stand above the crowd
We are one
We are the ones
We get knocked down
We get back up and stand above the crowd
We are one”

This IS TEAM ELEONORE!

What is your big girl job? I am an Intervention Specialist teacher at Shaw High School in East Cleveland.  I also volunteer when I can with the high school sports by teaching Crossfit techniques to the athletes during their off season.

What inspires you?
I am inspired by the human race, especially my students.  I have learned through them that it does not matter your age, race, religion, etc, but that we are all human and together can accomplish amazing feats.  Successful people replace the words 'wish', 'should' and 'try', with 'I will.’ This is exactly what the Friedrich’s did! They fought hard for the life of their child.  Unfortunately, God had other plans, but this plan happened to a family that had the strength to overcome a devastation.  Instead of burying themselves in sorrow, they rejoiced in the short life of their little peanut, Eleonore, and let her live on through others by creating a tremendous foundation that is The Eleonore Rocks Foundation.   They are also a great inspiration to me.

What kind of goals do you have for the year? I want to get back into competing in triathlons more regularly.  I am hoping to complete 7 Olympic Distance races over the summer months and end the season with the REV3 ˝ Ironman Distance.  I would also like to raise as much money as possible and provide to terminally ill children.  .  As Lululemon states in their manifesto: “The world is changing at such a rapid rate that waiting to implement changes will leave you 2 steps behind. DO IT NOW, DO IT NOW, DO IT NOW!”
